      - A Cannon compilation: Nanticoke James' neighborhood--documents regarding his progeny, neighbors, in-laws Dorchester County, Maryland and Northwest Fork Hundred, Sussex County, Delaware 1688-1843 / by Cannon, Doug.;

This collection of official records from the Maryland and Delaware colonies and states consists mostly of wills, deeds, probate records of estate administrations and orphan's court proceedings. The focus is on the Cannons but this collection also consists of wills and probates of others who may have named a Cannon as a legatee or whose wills may have been witnessed and/or proved by a Cannon. Families such as the Clarksons, Newtons, Nutters, Willises and Wingates intertwine with the Cannons (or vice versa). This collection covers the geographical area of the Northwest fork of the Nanticoke River at the turn of the eighteenth century. At that time, this area was Dorchester County, Maryland. In 1775, Delaware assumed sovereignty over that area. It became known as the Northwest Fork Hundred of Sussex County, Delaware.
