Director of photography, William H. Daniels ; film editor, Richard W. Farrell ; music supervisor, George Stoll.Doris Day, Stephen Boyd, Jimmy Durante, Martha Raye, Dean Jagger. The greatest show on earth comes to the screen in this sensational, razzle-dazzle circus epic the New York Herald Tribune called "a glorious tribute to sawdust!" Set at the turn of the century, the story centers on Pop Wonder (Jimmy Durante), his daughter Kitty (Doris Day), his long-suffering fiancee of fourteen years, Lulu (Martha Raye), and Sam Rawlins (Stephen Boyd), the spy who comes to steal Pop's circus and falls in love with Kitty. All four stars shine in thbe lavish and colorful musical numbers featuring the sublime songs of Rodgers and Hart. Doris Day delivers a bouncy version of "This Can't Be Love" while performing as a bareback rider, and also sings "Why Can't I" and "Little Girl Blue." Stephen Boyd croons a romantic version of "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World." And the comedy team of Durante and Raye provides some of the film's most hilarious moments and memorable lines. The breathtaking circus footage was actually directed by the legendary Busby Berkeley. Escape to the circus! Not rated by the MPAA.DVD; Dolby Digital surround 5.1.

Starring the bandleader Paul Whiteman, then widely celebrated as the King of Jazz, the film drew from Broadway variety shows to present a spectacular array of sketches, performances by such acts as the Rhythm Boys (featuring a young Bing Crosby), and orchestral numbers--all lavishly staged by veteran theater director John Murray Anderson. Presented here in the most complete form possible and restored to its early-Technicolor glory, King of Jazz offers a fascinating shapshot of the way mainstream American culture viewed itself at the dawn of the 1930s"--Container.Rating: Not rated.Subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing in English (main feature only)Bonus material lacks accessibility featuresDisc menu lacks SDH optionDVD, NTSC, region 1; 4:3 presentation; Dolby Digital 1.0 monaural.Named to the National Film Registry in 2013 by the Library of Congress.

Relocated to a Southern military base, Joe is a soldier about to leave for flying school, planning to marry his longtime sweetheart Cindy Lou before he goes. But free-spirited parachute packer Carmen interferes, when Joe is tasked with delivering her to jail after she gets into a vicious fight with another woman. This begins their stormy romance, and ends with Joe AWOL, the pair on the run in Chicago, and Carmen deserting Joe for professional boxer Husky Miller. Undone by her fickleness, Joe's passion for Carmen has tragic consequences. Not rated.DVD, region 1, widescreen (2.55:1) presentation, Dolby Digital 4.0 surround.

Early Hollywood's edgiest auteur, Browning drew on his experiences as a circus performer to create subversive pulp entertainments set amid the world of traveling sideshows, which, with their air of the exotic and the disreputable, provided a pungent backdrop for his sordid tales of outcasts, cons, villains, and vagabonds. Bringing together two of his defining works (The Unknown and Freaks) and a long-unavailable rarity (The Mystic), this cabinet of pre-Code curiosities reveals a master of the morbid whose ability to unsettle is matched only by his daring compassion for society's most downtrodden. Not rated.English subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (SDH)Blu-ray, region A, full screen, LPCM mono; requires Blu-ray player.Title from disc surface and container.
