The catalogue includes 472 full entries, plus two addenda--one of 50 more recently acquired ketubbot and the other of 45 ketubbot from the Cairo Genizah. About one-third of the ketubbot in the collection originate from Italy. The remaining two-thirds include those from elsewhere in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the United States. The earliest ketubbah in the catalogue is from Fustat, Egypt, dated 1023, while the latest is from New York, 2012. - The keeper of stories / by Pritchard, Caroline Kusin,author.(CARDINAL)886761; Alko, Selina,illustrator.(CARDINAL)348015;
Includes bibliographical references."When a fire broke out at New York's Jewish Theological Seminary library in 1966, firefighters raced to the rescue. But by the end of the day, thousands of books had been turned to ashes and the ones that remained were on the brink of ruin. The community was devastated. Would the priceless stories in the waterlogged pages be lost forever? Or could helping hands from every background and corner of the neighborhood come together to become keepers of stories too? This powerfully told and stunningly illustrated true story is a timely reminder of the essential role we all play in keeping libraries and the books within safe for generations to come."--
