- Two way stretch [videorecording] / [videorecording] / by 1922-2017,$edirector.; Sellers, Peter, 1925-1980.actor.(CARDINAL)122403; Hyde-White, Wilfrid.actor.; Lodge, David, 1921-2003.1921-2003.eactor.; Cribbins, Bernard.actor.;
Peter Sellers, Wilfred Hyde-White, David Lodge, Bernard Cribbins, Lionel Jeffries, Beryl Reid.Peter Sellers is Dodger Lane confined to prison with his two henchman after being caught doing a robbery. Dodger rules the roost in this tight little world and has the prison's governor believing he and his crew are model prisoners. When his old partner in crime, Soapy Stevens, shows up, as a minister doing a visit to the prison, the Dodger's not too glad to see him until he hatches a plan for a big diamond heist. The scam Soapy comes up with-to pull off the job while Dodger and the crew are still in prison. The trick-getting them all out to commit the crime and back inside before they are missed. Two-Way Stretch is kind of blithely, very British kind of comedy that Peter Sellers excelled in before his appearances in Dr. Strangelove and Lolita turned him into an international star. Sellers plays the conniving, blissfully self-assured Dodger whose kingpin life in the prison, and his plans with Soapy, are on target until an old threat, Chief P. O. Crout, shows up to take control of the prison yard as chief hack. Crout [pronounced by Dodger and his crew to sound like Kraut] is an authoritarian prig played perfectly by Lionel Jeffries. Jeffries, whose role is as the villain, seems, in fact, to be satirizing the kind of priggish martinet played by Alec Guinness in Bridge on the River Kwai. The rest of the funny ensemble include Wilfrid Hyde-White as Soapy Stevens, David Lodge as Jelly Knight, Bernard Cribbins as Lennie Price, Maurice Denham as the Governor, Irene Handl as Mrs. Price, Liz Fraser as Ethel, Beryl Reid as Miss Pringle, Walter Hudd as Rev. Patterson, and Thorley Walters as Col. Parkright.DVD, region 1, widescreen presentation, Dolby Digital 5.0.

- Artists' homes : live/work spaces for modern makers / by Harford Thompson, Tom,author,photographer.(CARDINAL)807175;
Billy Childish -- Jonny Hannah -- Peter Hall -- Lisa Smallpeice -- Sarah Walton -- Viv & Ben English -- Anthony & Lori Inglis Hall -- Carolyn Trant -- Chris Lewis -- Patrick Hall -- James Mitchell -- Hamish Black -- Tom Reeves -- Hamish McKenzie -- Steve Turner -- Liam Watson -- Ian Hatton -- Penny Rimbaud & Gee Vaucher -- Alan Dodd -- Daniel -- John & Diana Morley -- Thomas & Angel Zatorski -- Steve Lowe -- Corina Fletcher -- Mark Wilson -- Robert Hayward -- Alison Morris.In Artists' Homes, writer and photographer Tom Harford Thompson presents some thirty individual, eccentric houses and workspaces, from a music producer's studio in Hackney to an eco-warrior's treehouse on the Sussex Downs. His evocative photographs show how our live/work spaces, whether a tumbledown cottage, a country farmhouse or a reclaimed factory, are beautiful because of the lives we live in them. With work no longer separate from home life, we see how these artists function in the homes that inspire them, pursuing the life creative. Among the artists and craftspeople featured are Billy Childish, co-founder of the Stuckist art movement; Penny Rimbaud and Gee Vaucher, creative partners who set up their home and studio as an ànarchist-pacifist open house' (Dial House, in Essex); music producer Liam Watson of the famed London studio Toe Rag; vintage motorcycle dealer Ian Hatton, of cult shop Verrall's; vintner Peter Hall of Breaky Bottom Vineyard, one of the first wineries in the UK; and many more.
