Includes bibliographical references.La obra se estructura el dos partes: La primera parte, que titula LA SALVACIÓN EN CRISTO, y que ocupa poco más de la mitad de la obra, la dedica a exponer las bases de la fe bíblico-protestante: Justificación y santificación en el sacrificio de Cristo, que entraña una fe bíblica sin obras de la ley, y el nuevo nacimiento por acción del Espíritu Santo. En la segunda parte, que titula EL DEBATE, expone las corrientes de pensamiento que hoy en día difieren de esta fe bíblico-protestante, cuestionándola y reinterpretándola: -El Catolicismo Romano y su concepción anquilosada de la salvación a través de unos sacramentos que la Iglesia administra. Los sacramentos tienen la función de actualizar la obra de Cristo reproduciéndola como una copia y creando realidad a través de esa repetición. El Bautismo sustituye al nuevo nacimiento, renueva al hombre y deja en el bautizado una marca indeleble que le identifica para siempre como cristiano; el hombre renovado por el Bautismo, ya no tiene necesidad de la salvación por fe. El sacrificio de la misa es visto como un sacrificio efectivo en el presente, y aunque en teoría se alegará que no cuenta el sacrificio de la misa con eficacia en sí, sino que se remite al modelo, en la práctica el católico entiende que le basta con participar en la misa para ser salvo. Esta es la diferencia fundamental entre la comprensión bíblica-protestante y la sacramentalista de la Iglesia Católica Romana. -El Humanismo, que se ha introducido en buena parte del protestantismo histórico empañando la teología y emponzoña la fe, convirtiendo el Evangelio en un mensaje de auto-salvación políticamente correcto. Ya no se predica desde los púlpito ni ley y el Evangelio, sino temas sociales, políticos, económicos y culturales: la implicación por la paz mundial, la abolición de la energía nuclear y la transformación ecológica y feminista de la sociedad. El humanismo es uno de los desafíos más grandes que se le plantean al cristianismo bíblico en nuestro tiempo. El consenso general humanista acerca de que el hombre en su esencia no es perfecto, pero sí capaz de obrar el bien, es patrimonio espiritual universal. Quien lo contradice y se atreve a hablar de pecado y perdición del hombre, no tiene ninguna posibilidad de ser escuchado públicamente e incluso en ocasiones siquiera en la esfera pública evangélica -El Emocionalismo, que menospreciando los medios que Dios utiliza para salir a nuestro encuentro, busca la conexión directa con Dios a través de emociones y experiencias, sin darse cuenta que ello presupone ver al hombre caído como divino o compatible con Dios. El interés se centra en lo ocurrido en el hombre, la experiencia actual de lo divino, desplazando la cruz de Cristo como pivote central de la redención. Para el emocionalista la obra mediadora de Cristo y la Palabra bíblica como medios de salvación son terrenales y superficiales, la salvación hay que experimentarla, no sólo creerla. Por eso se arroga un acceso directo a Dios, pues quiere ser como Dios.
