- The science of music : a practical look at music theory / by Van Wert, Allen,author;
"I was unhappy with music theory books of the past 300 years and felt that it should be more of a science. I had many students coming to me confused about music theory due to the complexity and redundant naming convention that makes things much harder to learn than they should be. Then there are certain topics which are simply not taught accurately to what we experience in reality (Such as modes/modality). Students (including three of them with Grammy awards and Platinum albums) asked me to write a book they can use as a reference for what I was teaching them. This is that book. I have a knack for rebuilding systems so they are very easy and logical for learning. I have rebuilt music theory. I address issues we have had with it historically and I also present exactly accurate and scientifically predictable results as evidence of how simple and accurate my new music theory is compared to traditional theory."--
