All model parameters and coefficients are contained in this report and a fully implemented version is available on the enclosed CD-ROM, CRP-CD-121. This report will be of interest to regional, state, and federal agencies that oversee, plan, or finance public transportation; public transportation systems that provide ADA complementary paratransit services; and advocates for people with disabilities.Research sponsored by the Federal Transit Administration in cooperation with the Transit Development Corporation

Locals, oil workers, service workers, politicians, law enforcement, and get-rich-quick opportunists--along with an earnest wildlife biologist--commingle and collide as the population of the town triples overnight. Harleigh Killdeer, chairman of the tribal business council of neighboring Three Nations reservation, wants to increase economic opportunity but faces opposition for extolling "sovereignty by the barrel." - Managing aerial firefighting activities on airports / by Phillips, Tim,consultant.(CARDINAL)319931; United States.Federal Aviation Administration.(CARDINAL)139906; Airport Cooperative Research Program.(CARDINAL)307624; National Research Council (U.S.).Transportation Research Board.(CARDINAL)141287;
Includes bibliographical references (pages 35-36).Introduction -- Airport and aerial firefighting suppression agencies : a review -- Airports' role in aerial firefighting -- Fire management team roles -- Financial, economic, and contractual matters -- Security, safety, and operational matters -- Lessons learned : a review of the interviews -- Conclusions.This synthesis study is intended to provide a review of current airport and agency [primarily the U.S. Forest Service (USFS)] practices, policies, and procedures at airports called upon to support aerial wildland firefighting suppression efforts. Information used in this study was acquired through a review of the literature and interviews with ten airport operators (representing 13 airports), two commercial helicopter operators, and one regional fire center manager to gather insights on the current state of airport practices that support aerial wildland firefighting suppression efforts. The interviews followed a series of questions in areas such as community and economic matters, contracts, operations, and general business practices. While the interviews were structured, the interviewees were encouraged to freely discuss matters related to the topic of the study and to offer information on the subject that they believed was important.Research sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration

It includes local and regional transportation systems that serve college and university campuses. This report inquires into the current state of the practice with focused case studies. It presents information about practices and trends in the areas of transit operations, and campus policies and planning, with a special focus area in technology and environmental innovations. One underlying question regards the structure of transportation offered, including the interactions between services and unusual and innovative partnership strategies used to enhance services for students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community.Research sponsored by the Federal Transit Administration in cooperation with the Transit Development Corporation
